6 MINS READ

In less than two weeks, thousands of developers, engineers, technology executives, and Chronosphere will travel to Chicago’s McCormick Place for the industry’s top event for cloud native computing: KubeCon + Cloud Native North America 2023. From November 6-9, you can immerse yourself in the latest cloud native and open source computing trends, technologies, and innovations.

There’s plenty of opportunity to explore and learn. This year’s Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) hosted conference has 17 keynote speakers – including leaders from Shopify, Red Hat, Intel, and more. You can catch these sessions daily from 9-10 AM.

But it doesn’t stop there. The show includes hundreds of breakout sessions broken into multiple topic tracks, which cover:

  • cloud native novices
  • cloud native experience
  • observability
  • platform engineering
  • security
  • cloud native operations
  • networking and edge computing
  • emerging and advanced cloud native concepts
  • tech talent
  • DEI initiatives
  • solutions showcase

This blog serves as a preview for you to see what’s going on at the show, find out what we’re up to, and set up your schedule faster than ever before – so when you land in Chicago you’re ready to go and immerse yourself in all things Kubernetes and cloud native.

Beyond KubeCon

If that’s not enough to explore, there’s plenty of more options for co-hosted and co-located events, such as Cloud Native Rejekts and Observability Day North America

Beyond the show itself, there’s plenty of opportunities to chat and network. You can look forward to KubeCon’s big bash, KubeCrawl, and Chronosphere’s own Cheers to Observability event at Moody Tongue Brewery.

KubeCon + CloudNativeCon 2023: Connect with Chronosphere

This year, we’ve got some exciting announcements and product updates that help you solve problems and use cloud native observability to “Find It. See It. Fix It. Faster”. To make sure you don’t miss us, here’s a rundown of all the ways you can hear about what we do and chat with us during the show. Come see us at booth N10 in McCormick Place West!

We’ve got several presentations, booth events, giveaways, and an incredible party:

✅ Road to becoming an CNCF ambassador
When: Wednesday, 11/8, 4:30-5:05 PM
Where: W176
Add to your schedule

In this session, current ambassador Eric D. Schabell and CNCF community manager Katie Greenley bring you insights into achieving the title of CNCF Ambassador. Whether you are a developer, student, or seasoned professional, this talk provides you with five actionable insights needed to take your cloud-native skills to the next level and become a CNCF Ambassador.

✅OpenTelemetry 101: Let’s Instrument!
When: Wednesday, 11/8, 4:30-6:00 PM
Where: W183
Add to your schedule

Great observability begins with great instrumentation! Learn how to adopt OpenTelemetry by instrumenting a sample Python application with spans and metrics. Starting by exploring “out-of-the-box” automatic instrumentation then progressing to manually instrumenting where needed to add metadata. You’ll leave with an understanding of how telemetry travels from your application to the Collector and ready to bring OpenTelemetry to your project.

✅Cloud Metrics: The Cost-Value Equation
When: Tuesday, November 7th 6:00PM-6:15PM
Where: GCP Booth #D2

Are you collecting just about every metric under the sun and the kitchen sink too? Understanding the cost of collecting metrics and the usefulness of those metrics is the only way to scale in a cloud native world. You can’t get away with just collecting everything as you grow. Your engineers need to make decisions about what to collect, what to drop, what to aggregate, and still be able to alert, triage, investigate, and remediate on a daily basis. Gain immediate insights into high cost data (DPPS), when to drop time series data, and how to determine when the value of that data is at its lowest. Session includes a recorded demo video of this in action.

Booth happenings

If you want to chat with our technical staff, see demos, or enter yourself into prize drawings for a one of a kind “Daft Punk” helmet, be sure to stop by booth N10 in McCormick Place West to scan your badge and enter.

Want to do a deep dive on the product with an observability expert? Stop by and chat with us. After your demo, you will receive a Tile Pro to make sure you can see and find your valuables faster. We’ll also have some socks for you to pick up for the cold Chicago days.

🤝Meet Chronosphere’s founders
When: Tuesday, 11/7, 6-7 PM (During the KubeCrawl)

Interested in Chronosphere and want to hear about us from the founders themselves? Then stop by our booth during the KubeCrawl! You’ll be able to ask Martin and Rob your questions about cloud native, observability, and what we do – and snag a baked pretzel and some beer.

Activities and giveaways:

🛂 Google Cloud Passport program
When: Tuesday, 11/7, at 10:30 AM to Friday, 11/9, at 12 PM
