In this episode of The Landscape, Bart and Sylvain interview Perses maintainer Eric Schabell. Perses recently became a sandbox project int he CNCF.
Perses is a dashboard and visualization project within the CNCF landscape that aims to provide an open standard for dashboard definitions. It is fully open source and designed to be a Kubernetes-native solution, with a focus on GitOps and dashboard-as-code. Perses can validate configurations, offers API access for integration, and is user-friendly. Organizations like Amadeus, Red Hat, and Chronosphere have implemented it.
The tool supports metrics from storage backends like Prometheus and has plans to enhance its plugin system, add Knative integration, and introduce new features such as an explorer and alert view.
