Note: In January 2024, Chronosphere acquired Calyptia. The following press release from before the acquisition is presented here for the historical record. The former Calyptia product is now available as Chronosphere Telemetry Pipeline and the technology is also incorporated into Chronosphere Observability Platform.

SAN FRANCISCO, May 11, 2022 – Calyptia, a leading provider of observability pipeline solutions, announced that it had been named a Cool Vendor in Observability and Monitoring for Logging and Containers* by Gartner®, one of the most respected global technological research and consulting firms.

The Gartner report noted the increased focus on observability by enterprises running cloud applications on containers and microservices:

“2021 was designated as ‘the year of observability’ (see Hype Cycle for Monitoring, Observability and Cloud Operations, 2021). It is now apparent that this trend may lead to the 2020s being known as ‘the decade of observability.’”

The report cited Calyptia’s efforts to help enterprises effectively manage their observability data:

“Calyptia is cool because it allows companies to reduce cost, complexity and risk of the observability stack. It achieves this by simplifying the ingestion of massive amounts of monitoring and observability log data, from a variety of sources, routing it to multiple destinations and allowing more rapid insight into application performance.”

Calyptia takes a vendor-neutral approach to observability, allowing event data to be collected and processed from any source and routed to any destination–even multiple destinations–for storage and analysis. This approach gives the enterprise maximum flexibility and control of its data while also avoiding vendor lock-in. It also presents opportunities for considerable cost savings by adding the ability to filter telemetry data to add context for richer back-end analysis and reroute unneeded data to a lower cost back-end.

“It’s very exciting for us to be recognized as a Cool Vendor by Gartner,” said Calyptia Co-Founder Anurag Gupta. “It’s a validation of our efforts to help enterprises solve the challenge of how to get insights quickly and efficiently out of the terabytes of log and event data created daily across the enterprise.”
